State of Emergency: Movement of People

03 April, 2020In accordance with the Decree no. 2-B/2020 of 02/04, the State of Emergency decreed by the President of the Republic was extended and more restrictive measures on the movement of people were adopted.
Rules on mandatory confinement of COVID-19 patients, those infected with SARS-Cov2, and people under active surveillance remain in force, as well as a special duty of protection for certain groups of people and a general duty of domiciliary confinement. Closure of certain establishments and activity suspension for certain sectors remain in force, with the obligation to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety rules in establishments that may be open. Rules on the frequency in wholesale establishments and markets have also been strengthened.
Movement during the Easter period (between 00:00 on 9 April and 24:00 on 13 April) will be highly restricted and citizens will not be able to move outside their usual municipality of residence, with the exception of carrying out professional activities admitted in this State of Emergency. Their workers shall circulate with a declaration from their employer certifying that they are carrying out their professional activities. Commercial passenger flights to and from national airports are not allowed during this period.
