Amendment to the rules of electronic medical prescription29 October, 2019
The issuance of medical prescriptions is regulated by Ordinance 224/2015, of 27 July.
This Ordinance initially provided for exceptional situations in which medical prescriptions could be passed by hand, including home prescriptions, situations of inadequacy of the prescribing physician, or the exception of 40 prescriptions that could be prescribed manually each month.
The Ordinance was now amended through Ordinance 390/2019, of 29 October, and the list of situations where manual prescribing is possible has been reduced: as of 30 October 2019, manual prescriptions can only be performed in the event of computer or mobile device system failure, as well as when the patient is unable to receive the dematerialized prescription.
In the case of physicians who are referenced by the Professional Orders as inadequate, they will have until 31 March 2020 to adapt to the electronic prescriptions.
